What to do
In particular you should:
- Always read labels and price tickets carefully
- Be wary of phrases such as "From €50" or "Cable not included", because the price at the till may be different and you may need to purchase other parts separately
- Check advertisements or promotional material for any restrictions as to the availability of an offer
- Complain to the seller if they are charging a different price to the one displayed
Complaining about a breach
If you have a complaint about unit pricing or anything else to do with the pricing of goods or services, you should begin by taking this up with the retailer.
If you are still unhappy with your complaint, contact the National Consumer Agency on 1890 432 432 or (01) 402 5555.
