Update Friday 16 July 2010 If you have booked with 1800Hotels.ie and your booking has now been confirmed cancelled by the bed bank and hotel (see below), it may be possible to claim for this through your travel insurance if your policy covers third-party supplier failure. Not all travel insurance policies offer this cover, so consumers should check with their travel insurance provider to establish if their policy extends to third-party supplier failure. |

The National Consumer Agency is aware of alleged trading difficulties associated with 1800Hotels.ie. The Agency is not on notice to the appointment of a liquidator or receiver, and has been unable to reach the business to confirm the current status.
The NCA is investigating and will provide any additional information as it becomes available.
What to do
Customers who have already booked accommodation with 1800Hotels.ie should seek clarification regarding the status of their booking from both the hotel and the "bed bank"- the booking agent used by 1800Hotels.ie to secure the booking.
The details of the bed bank used can be found in the small print on the booking confirmation received from 1800Hotels.ie. Customers should see one of the following bed banks listed on their booking confirmation:
