EU launches passenger rights information campaign

5 July 2010

The European Commission has launched a Europe-wide publicity campaign to tackle the lack of clarity and reliable information available to passengers travelling on air and rail services in the EU.

The "Your Passenger Rights At Hand" campaign aims to provide passengers with easier access to information about their rights.

The campaign features posters and leaflets in airports and railway stations throughout all Member States reminding passengers of their rights while travelling. It also has a dedicated website where passengers can find out what their rights are for each of the transport modes.

Passenger rights set out what consumers are entitled to if things go wrong during their trip - for example, if your journey gets delayed or cancelled, or if your luggage gets lost or damaged.
They also guarantee equal treatment for people with a disability or reduced mobility.
