Honda Jazz recall
3 February 2010
Universal Honda Limited, the distributors of Honda Motor Vehicles in Ireland, is recalling 2,870 Honda Jazz motor vehicles from the Irish market to carry out checks on the board and connectors inside the power window switch.
Under some severe operating conditions, water, rain or other liquid may enter the driver's window and reach the master power window switch resulting in impaired function of the switch.
If liquid gets in it can cause the window switch's circuit board to malfunction and prevent opening or closing of the window. In rare cases, the circuit board can overheat causing melting or smoke or, potentially, fire.
What to do
From 24 February 2010 Universal Honda Ltd will contact all owners of affected vehicles to make arrangements to have these checks carried out and to carry out repairs where appropriate.
Any damaged parts will be replaced and a waterproof skirt will be fitted together with the new parts. This work will be carried out at no cost to the owner.
