Safety alert on New World Vision gas cookers
11 January 2009
The New World Vision 50TWLMSV (LPG) gas cooker can produce dangerous fumes if not operated in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Correct use and adequate ventilation are essential to ensure safe use of the cooker. Using the appliance for any purpose other than that for which it is designed for can cause serious safety issues.
The New World Vision 50TWLM is a freestanding gas cooker and is available in LPG and Natural Gas models. The appliance must always be installed and operated in accordance with the Users’ Instructions supplied with the product.
The appliance is designed for cooking purposes only and must NOT be used as a space heater or for any other purpose.
Do not operate the cooker with the grill door closed. When the grill burner is operating the grill door must always be in the open position. If the grill is operated with the grill door closed, the air supply to the grill burner is restricted, causing high levels of dangerous carbon monoxide.
What to do
If you own a silver coloured New World Vision 50TWLMSV which is fuelled by LPG, check the serial number detailed on the data plate at the bottom front edge of the appliance.
If the serial number begins with "08", you should telephone 1800 569 569 or email Service@dimpco.ie to arrange for an engineer to carry out a safety inspection and any modifications required.
